Real Canterbury provides a health and wellbeing service for taiohi aged between 13-20 years through the Real Talk Group Programme and youth mentoring.
We support young people to push past their fears and inhibitions to realise what they are capable of.
Real Talk Group Programme
The Real Talk Group Programme runs over 10 weeks, offering early intervention for vulnerable taiohi struggling with symptoms of anxiety and depression. It’s delivered with the intent of teaching taiohi skills that will enable them to better manage intense emotions, social stressors and other things that get in the way of everyday life. The programme is designed to encourage taiohi to push past their fears and inhibitions and realise their own unique potential.
Term 3 times and dates are:
13-14 year olds: Mondays 4pm – 6pm from 20 July – 21 September
15-17 year olds: Wednesdays 4pm – 6pm from 22 July – 23 September
17-20 year olds: Sundays 1.30pm – 3.30pm from 28 June to 30 August
There is also the opportunity for taiohi to be supported one-on-one alongside the programme – talk to your Real Canterbury team if you would like more details about that.
